Serving Our Community

 

As an Aveda Concept full service salon, we believe in being environmentally conscious, in practicing sustainability, and in giving back to society—both personally and professionally. The Emerald Iguana Salon gives back to our local community and its various organizations by participating in fund raising activities throughout the year.

 

March: Spring Forward Against Cancer: We have donated Silent Auction items for this event numerous times, which is held when the clocks “spring forward” to help this local non-profit organization raise money for cancer research.

April:  Earth Month, Earth Day on April 22nd: We help raise monies for Earth Month and Aveda Environmental partners. Since 2001, Emerald Iguana Salon has raised $10,000.

September/October: Women Care: For the past 9 years, we’ve helped raise funds for this local non-profit organization which provides support for women undergoing the battle against a variety of cancers. Each year, we participate in Bowling for Cancer, and to date we have raised more than $10,000 and plan to continue.

Aveda Congress: In the fall, we participate in Aveda’s mission to connect beauty, environment, and well being. We personally attend this national conference where we take advanced, leading edge classes. We learn up-to-the-minute techniques presented by Aveda’s Global Education Team.

October: Breast Cancer Awareness Month: with Aveda’s Product Give Back to program.

In addition, Emerald Iguana donates gifts and services to various schools and causes in our community throughout the year. We believe that as you come forward to share your gifts, you inspire others to do the same.
